Young Persons Awards for Design and Innovation

Rotary District 1060 are running the competition "Young person's award for Design and Innovation" again this year.
As you can see from the notes, the prizes are significant and all finalists will get a Certificate to add to their CV.

It is very easy for Schools and Clubs to manage, as can be seen in the attached notes.
Clubs need to approach Secondary Schools with Art and Design departments.

This year, the Final, including entries from Districts 1060, 1100 and 1210, will be held on July 12th at Bromsgrove School between 10h30 and 16h00. The students will get a free meal and refreshments, and supporters will be able to get a selection of hot meals and salads with a dessert and beverage for £6. Once we have got the finalists we will let everyone know the details and take numbers for meals.

Please reply whether your Club will be running a competition by 5th June please. The timetable is to have local selections complete by 30th June if possible.
The timetable is very short, as our organisers have changed this year, but it really only involves selecting the best few A level or GCSE work ( which is all complete) and then selecting a winner.

If any entries are worth a Provisional Patent this can be done for 12 months free of charge. An application form for the U.K. Intellectual Property Office is attached.

In the interdistrict Final we aim to have some 12 pieces of work from each District to judge the final winners. If you have any queries contact Elaine Turton or Sandy Laird, whose details are given in the attached notes."

The day culminates in the testing session when teams can see the performance of competing designs and solutions.
